Name Days

The feast of the saint whose name you bear.

An Orthodox name day is the feast of the saint whose name you bear. If that saint has more than one feast, one day is usually kept as the name day. Many go to church that day and pray the saint's hymns at home. It is often held to matter more than a birthday, and in Greek and Romanian tradition it may be kept with an open house. Find your name below, with its day on the New and Old calendars.
