The life of Aristarchus, Pudens and Trophimus
Pudens was a senator of Rome and a devout man. Paul greets him at the close of the second letter to Timothy. He opened his house to Peter and to Paul and to the Christians of the city, so that it served them in place of a church.
Trophimus was of Ephesus and was also converted by Paul, and he travelled with him. The Acts name him among Paul's companions, and Paul wrote afterward that he had left him behind at Miletus, sick.
When Nero turned against the Christians, all three followed Paul to the end, and they were beheaded together with him.
