The Saints of January
In January the Orthodox Church remembers many saints; Orthros carries 68 of their lives, on 28 of the month's days. Among them are St Anthony the Great (January 17), St Gregory of Nyssa (January 10) and St Maximus the Confessor (January 21). The month also keeps the Great Feast of Theophany (January 6). Dates are on the New Calendar; on the Old Calendar a fixed feast falls thirteen days later.
