The life of Andronicus of the Seventy
He was appointed bishop of Pannonia, though he did not stay within its borders. Together he and Junia carried the Gospel through that country and far past it. Many who had served idols came to the knowledge of God, the temples of the idols were emptied and pulled down, and churches rose in their place. Both were given the grace of wonders, driving out demons and healing every kind of sickness.
The service appointed for them holds that they ended their lives as martyrs, so that they are honored twice over, as apostles and as those who suffered. Their relics were uncovered long after at Eugenius, where it was made known to a cleric named Nicholas Kalligraphos that Andronicus lay among seventeen martyrs, and a church was raised above the place.
