When it arrives, what is inside, why it is free, and how to reach a person.
When does it arrive?
Soon. Sign-ups for a quiet word when it is ready will open on the home page.
What is inside?
The whole Bible in three translations, the King James, the Septuagint, and plain modern English, with the Fathers beside it; the morning and evening prayers; the liturgical calendar for New and Old alike; the daily saint from the Prologue of Ochrid; The Way, a stone of catechesis each day; and the komboskini. Every text carries the public-domain source it came from.
Which jurisdictions does it serve?
Orthros is pan-Orthodox. It keeps both the New and the Old Calendar, you choose once, and every feast and fast follows your choice.
Do I need an account?
No. No account, no sign-in, no email required to pray. Your rule, your journal, and those you pray for stay on your own device and in your iCloud, never on our servers.
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything written is free to read. Always. Every prayer, every Life, every parable, the whole Bible in three editions, the Fathers on all four Gospels, the seven Ecumenical Councils, the desert sayings, read end to end, never truncated. Orthros+ is optional, and it is how the app is funded. There are no ads and there is no data business.
What is Orthros+?
A page is never locked; only the wiring between pages is. Everything written is free to read, end to end, forever. Orthros+ is the recorded voice and the study apparatus that connects the corpus: the whole library read aloud in a human voice, the Fathers linked across the rest of the Bible, thirty-three threads through Scripture, the covenants, the concept index, and the study rooms. All of it is being built and is coming; nothing you can read today will ever move behind it.
What do parishes get?
A parish plan gifts Orthros+ seats by code, Mission, Parish, Cathedral, or Diocese, first month free, and missions under fifteen families free. The parish sees seat counts only, never who prayed.
When does audio arrive?
The recorded library arrives with Orthros+, on the Nativity Fast, the fifteenth of November. Everything written is readable today, and stays free afterwards. Until that day nothing in Orthros is for sale.
What is the Founding Supporter?
Orthros+ bought once, for good, at $89.99 instead of yearly. It pays for the recording, the commissioned art, and the reader. It buys nothing the yearly plan does not also buy: there is no rank, no badge, and no name on a wall.
Will there be an Android version?
iOS first. If Orthros serves people well there, Android will follow in time.
Who makes Orthros?
Demetri Panici, a self-named revert, like many of us, constantly being reconverted to Christ. Made by Orthodox Christians, for everyone: Orthros is not an official work of any Church body and never speaks for the Church; it carries her words, with every source named.
