The Saints of September
In September the Orthodox Church remembers many saints; Orthros carries 81 of their lives, on 29 of the month's days. Among them are St Jonah (September 21); St Euphrosyne (September 25); and St Moses, who beheld God (September 4). The month also keeps the Great Feasts of the Nativity of the Theotokos (September 8) and the Exaltation of the Cross (September 14). Dates are on the New Calendar; on the Old Calendar a fixed feast falls thirteen days later.
