The Saints of May

In May the Orthodox Church remembers many saints; Orthros carries 82 of their lives, on 31 of the month's days. Among them are St John the Theologian (May 8), St Irene of Thessalonica (May 5) and St Macrina the Elder (May 30). Dates are on the New Calendar; on the Old Calendar a fixed feast falls thirteen days later.
