The life of Anastasia and Companions
When she was free of that house she put on poor clothes and went from city to city into the prisons, loosing the bonds of those held for Christ, dressing their wounds, bringing them food, and burying them when they were killed. She had learned medicine, and because so many were healed through her she is called the deliverer from poisons.
Theodote, a young widow, helped her, and was burned in a furnace with her three sons. Anastasia was taken in Illyricum, and later shut up sixty days without food, and the hunger did her no harm. She was put with other prisoners into a boat that was holed and left to sink, and the boat came to land, and those aboard were baptized. She was taken again and given to the fire, and a woman named Apollinaria buried her.
