The life of St John of Ustiug

He lived in a small hut, praying through the night and going by day barefoot and in rags through the streets in every season, resting sometimes on a dung heap, hiding his prayer and his gifts beneath a mask of madness. Granted wonders even in life, he reposed young in 1494 and was buried by the Dormition cathedral of Ustiug.
