The life of St Musa the Maiden

The Mother of God appeared to her in sleep, with a company of maidens dressed in white, and asked whether she wished to live among them. The child said that she did. She was told to leave off the silliness and joking natural to her age, and that she would be sent for in thirty days. From that hour she was another child. She prayed in earnest and held to a strict rule, and when her parents asked what had changed her she told them what she had seen. On the twenty-fifth day a fever took her. On the thirtieth the Mother of God came again with the same maidens, and the child answered that she was coming, and died.
