Theodore the Hermit and Wonderworker

Our Holy Father Theodore the Hermit and Wonderworker (583)

Theodore forsook the world in his youth and withdrew into the wilderness of the Jordan, living in asceticism and receiving from God the gift of wonders. On a voyage to Constantinople the ship lost its course and the water ran out; Theodore prayed and made the sign of the Cross over the sea, and bade the sailors draw and drink, and the salt water was made sweet.
