The life of Erastus, Olympas, Herodion and companions
Tertius was the one who wrote that letter down as Paul dictated it, and he says so himself near its close. He became the second bishop of Iconium and died there. Sosipater was a man of Achaia and held Iconium before him, and he too died in that place.
Herodion, whom some call Rodion, was a kinsman of Paul. He gave up the bishop's seat at Patras to go to Rome with the Apostle Peter, and Olympas went with them as Peter's companion. When Peter was crucified, those two were beheaded on the same day and in the same hour.
Quartus bore much for his faith and brought many who had served idols to Christ. He was bishop at Beirut, and there he died in peace.
