Cheesefare Week

The gate of Lent, dairy, no meat

The week before Clean Monday is a gentle transition into Great Lent. Meat is no longer eaten, but dairy, eggs, and fish are permitted every day, even on Wednesday and Friday, recalling the food of Adam in Paradise before the Fall. It closes on the Sunday of Forgiveness, when the faithful ask and grant forgiveness of one another and receive the blessing to begin the Fast. Receive that blessing at the Vespers of Forgiveness in your parish, from your parish priest.

The measure is yours to receive, ask your priest.
