The seven days that begin at Pascha are wholly fast-free, the brightest week of the year · even Wednesday and Friday are kept without fasting, that the Resurrection may be a feast without shadow. "Christ is risen" is the greeting of the days. The doors of the altar stand open; the joy is meant to be tasted.
